Great Lakes announces price hike for antioxidant

INDIANAPOLIS, IN, Dec. 3 -- Great Lakes Chemical Corp. has announced that effective Dec. 15, where contracts allow, the price for Lowinox CPL hindered phenolic antioxidant will increase 12% globally. The company said the price increase will raise profitability to a point necessary to ensure supply given the strong demand for the product. Lowinox CPL is a polymeric antioxidant that provides protection against discoloration in natural and synthetic latex-based products such as sanitary goods, carpet backing, foams and elastic bands.
