Daikin to Expand FEP & ETFE Melt Processible Fluoropolymer Capacity in its Alabama Facility

Daikin America, Inc. a wholly owned subsidiary of Daikin Industries Ltd. of Osaka, Japan has announced a $60 million capital investment to expand FEP and ETFE melt processible fluoropolymer capacity in its Decatur, Alabama facility. The expansion will be completed in October 2012 and will increase both ETFE and FEP supply by over 50%. Worldwide demand for fluoropolymers is increasing and as the global economies continue to recover, the need for specialty, melt processible grades such as FEP and ETFE is growing sharply.
