Plastic materials are being used to an increasing extent in medical technology and diagnostics. Depending on the use, they must be resistant to caustic solutions and chemicals, extremely heat-resistant or sterilizable.

To find out more about Styrolux® in injection molding - Ask an expert |
Injection molded parts using Styrolux® (BASF's styrene-butadiene block copolymer - SBC) can be used in medical devices due to the reason that it can be sterilized either with high-energy radiation (γ- or β-radiation) or with ethylene oxide (ETO). Styrolux® retains most of its mechanical properties during this process. It is also biocompatible to USP class VI-50/ISO 10993.

Styrolux® is ideal for colored medical devices - either transparent or opaque. |
