When applying antistatic effects to transportation trays for electronic devices, the design and shape of the tray is often a secondary consideration. Using the standard solution, Carbon Black, often requires tray manufacturers to compromise when trying to match customer’s design, shape, color and monetary specifications.

For instance, if Carbon Black is used to make a transportation tray antistatic, the loaded solution can only be black. This means that customers who require colored trays to differentiate between product lines cannot have their needs met.

Due to their small size Carbon Black particles are also difficult to completely remove from the processing machine, leading to extra cleaning efforts and maintenance being needed which is an extra waste of time and money.

Carbon Black can also be dangerous as discharge is hard which can cause spark formation when not properly grounded.  This could lead to the damage of electronic devices in contact with the Carbon Black loaded tray.
