TPU films on textile fabrics in ski gear meeting extreme environmental conditions
must have high moisture breathability.
Textile fabrics in ski gear meeting extreme environmental conditions must have high moisture breathability to assure comfort of use and durability. As a result, textile operators, including converters, fabric producers and garment manufacturers, look for improved breathability levels in TPU film, and easy processing.
Pearlthane® D18VT80 is the perfect choice to reduce cost in an easy lamination process.
An HMVT TPU film made with Pearlthane® D18VT80 has low temperature flexibility, whilst providing a tough and durable breathable barrier. This material offers the advantage that even very thin films can be produced. All these properties grant comfort to the user.

Compared to polyether TPU, the graph below shows the excellent moisture vapour transmission brought by a breathable TPU grade.
Another characteristic of this grade is its easy processing allowing for cost reduction. It has a very low stickiness tendency which makes the lamination process easy, and consequently, a lower usage of anti block additives during extrusion. Due to the lower moisture absorption, it is easier to form a blown bubble using Pearlthane® D18VT80.
