Polyamide 11 (PA11) and Polyamide 12 (PA12) are high performance polyamides with unique combinations of properties. Compared to other engineering plastics, these polymers deliver: an outstanding chemical resistance, an excellent durability and a wide range of flexibility.

Moreover, Polyamide 11 is a sustainable polymer – the only polyamide derived from castor plant–based renewable resources.

Other interesting properties include tailorable levels of flexibility, superior cold impact resistance, excellent gas and liquid barrier and good abrasion resistance. All of these highly interesting properties are available in Rilsan® PA11 and PA12, Arkema’s high performance polyamides range.

This attractive set of performances can be combined with other properties to better serve market needs. For instance transparent Rilsan® PA grades exhibit excellent transparency while demonstrating the intrinsic excellent chemical resistance of Rilsan® PA.

Arkema has also developed a new multi–layer fuel barrier technology called Rilperm® which uses the outstanding chemical barrier properties of Rilsan® PA combined with other materials. Furthermore, Rilsan® PA is easily injection molded or extruded.
